DevOps Engineer

It's Wednesday, middle of the week, and you are probably reading this during your break, your lunchtime, or on your way home. You're probably reading this thinking 'What a bad day, I need to move on'. There could be any number of reasons. Work environment, stagnated progression, lack of challenging projects are all just examples of reasons people decide to move on. Well, in this advert I am going to try and show you exactly why choosing my client would be the right move for you.

First of all, we will start with the client itself. They are a leading consultancy company with a global footprint. The vast array of sectors in which they work means that there is a never ending opportunity for you to gain experience in more or less any sector. This means your options going forward can be endless. Whilst they specialise in the public sector it is by no means set in stone that this will be the only area in which you can work.

Secondly, my client can offer you options for career progression in both traditional and non-traditional ways. For example, they offer T shaped progression. This means that you are not limited to the typical career path (Junior developer, Software developer, Senior developer etc…). Instead my client will offer you the opportunity to explore options in management, for example, meaning that internal progression is always an option.

Finally, it is all about YOU. Certifications can be expensive. How about getting them paid for you? How does an individual training budget, typically, between £10000-£15000 yearly sound to you? This will help speed up your progression while, also, ensuring you are geared up to work on the latest technologies. This is something my client prides itself on.

Now, what can you bring to my client? There are key criteria, as there is with any role. These are:
  • Experience with Linux technologies.
  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure etc...)
  • Experience with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes etc…)

Logistically, you can expect to be onsite 4 days a week with one day remote working. In terms of location, there are a number of locations available ranging from Central Yorkshire all the way down to the South Coast. The ideal candidate can travel to whichever site they are best suited for. For this there are generous expenses packages available including paid for travel and accommodation. Where this is not possible your preferences will be listened to and your expectations accommodated where possible.

Salary wise, there are salaries ranging from £40000-£85000 (DOE) due to the nature of my client. They are not necessarily looking for the complete model and with the training provided you really will have a chance to flourish and grow.
