Job Description

The Desktop Support Engineer will provide desk side support to internal staff. Their primary objective is to ensure that all incidents and requests escalated are actioned in accordance with the incident and request fulfilment process in a timely manner in accordance with SLAs. The Desktop Support Engineer will be responsible for desk side assistance with issues relating to desktop support, software & hardware installation, network, and printer configuration. In addition, they will be responsible for asset management and IT procurement at their local site.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for correctly logging all incidents and requests in the Service Desk that are raised outside of the Service Desk i.e. in person, direct email…
  • Respond to tickets in a polite, timely and efficient manner, ensuring response and resolution is within SLA
  • Provide cover to the service desk by answering customer calls and triaging and resolving incidents or request.
  • Collaboration with our global service desk providing local support to Desktop PC's, Printers, Telephony systems & physical network assets.
  • Asset & inventory management and physical relocation of assets.
  • IT Procurement for allocated site.
  • Ad hoc duties supporting projects rolling out new hardware / software across the estate.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a Level 2 service desk or Desktop support role
  • Strong support skills and knowledge of IT hardware, including PC's, Telephones, switches, printers, network cabling, Audio Visual and more
  • Strong support skills & knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows Operating Systems, Telephone platforms & Active Directory.
  • A strong logical approach to troubleshooting incidents relating to workstations, active directory, networking, printing, telephony and business applications (desired)
