SCOPE:
  • The Security Engineer is part of a team responsible for ensuring company's Cloud customers' environments are secured through multiple layers of security-focused hardware, software, and services.
  • Be involved with many security-focused areas of the business, including Security Compliance, Security Threat Assessments, Security Incident Investigations, partnering with our Security Operations Center provider, and partnering with our Internal Systems team that provides patching, malware, and monitoring services for Cloud environments.
  • Share responsibility in the assessment, implementation, management, and documentation of a broad set of information security technologies and processes within our cloud and customer environments .
  • Will implement process improvements for Cloud Services internal and /or external processes , particularly as those processes relate to Governance, Risk, and Compliance .
  • Perform vulnerability scans, review results, and recommend/implement changes to remedy vulnerabilities, improve processes to prevent future vulnerabilities, and review results through the lens of compliance adherence for SOC 2, HIPAA, CJIS, and PCI.
  • Oversee and assist in the deployment of security-related tools like Carbon Black, to mitigate against ransomware, but balance deployments with concern for disruption within customer cloud environments.
  • Partner with the Compliance and Quality Manager to ensure yearly compliance attainment of SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI, and CJIS certifications.
  • Participate in and/or Conduct Incident Response Plan execution and revision as necessary to evolve the needs of the business.
  • Performs security assessments and penetration tests. Administers security tools and technologies.




QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Requirements - Education, Skill & Abilities
  • Minimum 5 years experience in an operational Security Engineer role.
  • Vulnability Scanning and Assessment experience
  • Cloud Security Support Experience
  • Intrusion Proteciton and Dection experience (IDS/IPS)
  • Experience working as a Security Engineer within SOC 2, HIPAA, CJIS, or PCI compliance
  • Certified in CISSP, Security+, or some industry-recognized Security Certification
  • Experience with ITIL process framework
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to convey technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to work well in a cross-functional, matrix management environment with a highly collaborative, team-oriented approach to problem-solving
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to handle political, client cultural situations with a minimum of oversight
