Project Background: The Veterans Administration is seeking to modernize their benefits systems, improve their customer service, and digitize their processes to enable a more user-friendly service for beneficiaries to apply, withdraw, amend, or transfer their benefits. My client is teamed with Accenture Federal Services (AFS) on this long-term, multi-year contract.





Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education)

Required Skills:

• 8 years of overall IT experience where has been responsible for delivery of components
• WebLogic 12.2
• EJB, Servlet
• Java version 1.8
• Spring framework concepts, Spring boot
• REST, SOAP web services
• Authentication mechanisms (SAML, OAuth)
• multi-threading (concurrency)
• JMS, Schedulers, workflow engines, redHat Process Automation Manager, RPA (blueprism)
• Git, maven, CI/CD, Red Hat
• hibernate, Oracle and Postgres databases
• Jmeter, unit, functional testing.
• Agile development experience

Nice to have

• Spring boot
• Authentication mechanisms (SAML, OAuth)
• multi-threading (concurrency)
• Docker, orchestration using Kubernetes
• AWS Cloud

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for participating in the full agile application development life cycle for new development design, construction and testing of Java applications, Web Services (SOAP and REST), and reusable components to support overall project requirements.
• Analyze technical needs and develop coding with design objectives.
• Create software in Java programming and for a variety of IT software applications.
• Responsible for debugging, upgrading and correcting errors in Java programs.
• Review and integrate technical and application architecture requirements.
• Participate in the full agile application development life cycle for new development design, construction and testing of Java applications, Web Services (SOAP and REST), and reusable components to support overall project.
