My client is looking for an experienced Network Administrator located in Ontario. This role is primarily on-site with some remote flexibility. Keep in mind that this role is full-time and PERMANENT (W2).

The Network and Security Administrator role is to provide technical design, implementation and support services to; server, storage, network and telecommunications systems. Implement and manage security for; server, network (LAN/WAN, Telco, Voice) infrastructure to protect against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction. Support and implement migration to cloud services. Responsible for the administration, support and maintenance of the computing environment for my client.

  • Support, implementation, upgrades and administration of my clients computing infrastructure
  • Servers; vSphere, Linux and Windows
  • Storage; SAN, Network attached storage
  • Switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points
  • Security; Firewall and endpoint devices
  • Backup and disaster recovery solutions
  • HVAC and UPS systems
  • Internet and telecommunications systems
  • Facility access and CCTV systems
  • Cloud services (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS)
  • Support internal and external information security audits
  • Maintain KMC systems in compliance with corporate policies
  • Provide resolutions and final level support for issues escalated from front line support
  • Conduct systems implementation, administration, maintenance and upgrades for operating systems, enterprise applications and office application software
  • Architect, implement and management of network security solutions (SIEM, NextGen Firewalls and Endpoint) Monitor back-up and recovery of servers, SAN, CCTV and workstations
  • Assist with development and integration projects
  • Conduct systems implementation, administration, maintenance and upgrades of industrial equipment (not limited to computers, printers, data collection, controllers, scales and time clocks)
  • Conduct systems implementation, administration, maintenance and upgrades of workstations (including printers and bar code equipment)
  • Other related duties, as required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field from an accredited university/college
  • Professional IT certification preferred (Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, VMware, CompTIA; Network+, Security+, CISSP) Minimum 5 years supporting information systems, ideally in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience supporting networks in a Microsoft AD environment, including the use of DNS, DHCP, SMTP, and VPN Hands-on hardware and software troubleshooting experience
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent computer skills and thorough knowledge of MS Office Suite to assist end-users with issues
  • Demonstrated ability to independently identify issues, plan improvements, measure success and prevent reoccurrence
