My client is looking for an individual with good ERP experience to take on the role as a Production and Inventory Planner.



This role is full-time and will be on-site in Kennewick, WA.

Position Summary:

The Production and Inventory Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring products through the complete production cycle. In addition, this position identifies opportunities to improve scheduling and on time delivery within our manufacturing facility. This position is located at company headquarters in Kennewick, WA.



Key Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Analyze production requirements and capacity data to support business planning requirements. Identify potential corrective actions such as: working overtime, assessing equipment, outsourcing and/or expediting.
  • Manage Monthly S&OP Process
  • Interfaces and coordinates between manufacturing, procurement, engineering, finance, and suppliers regarding component and schedule requirements and changes.
  • Plans and directs preparation of master schedule of Kanbans / Min-Max to conform to delivery dates, manufacturing capacities, available manpower
  • Prepare summary reports of safety stock and delivery performance on a regular basis
  • Monitors orders in process to keep informed of manufacturing status and, when needed, initiate the necessary steps to maintain conformity with schedules.
  • Routinely interact with IT on system and process improvements.
  • Analyzes inventory variances, identifies root causes and provides effective corrective action.
  • Create a Weekly Clear to Build Report. Clearly communicate Gaps, Root Cause and plans to close gaps to plan
  • Create and manage a Daily / Weekly / Monthly Ship Schedule
  • Communicate expedites when necessary
  • Troubleshoot and resolve ERP System issues as required
  • Coordinates with Procurement, Production, Sales and Customer Service groups to maintain plant-wide production scheduling information
  • Evaluate machine and plant capacity to balance current and forecast plant loading
  • Attend and participate in production meetings
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned




Education / Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations, Management, or Business-related field
  • Must have at least three years previous experience in manufacturing scheduling. This should include scheduling production with multiple-step processes.
  • Experience with ERP systems and demonstrated project leadership
  • Experience with Lean is a plus
  • Possess well-rounded knowledge in supply chain, materials planning and logistics




Job Knowledge / Requirements:
  • Must develop basic knowledge and application of Cadwell products and components
  • Communicate clearly and professionally through listening, speaking, and writing skills; remain calm and solutions-focused while interacting with customers and internal partners
  • Strong knowledge and ability to navigate all systems in the ERP/MRP
  • Experience in Business Intelligence reporting with exceptional analytical, problem solving, project management skills, and strong business math skills
  • Complete work both independently and as an effective member of the team, adapting to changing requirements, deadlines, and priorities as needed
  • High level of proficiency in computer skills: MS Office (Excel) and Google applications, query tools, and database systems and applications
  • Strong interpersonal skills, effective time management, attention to detail, the ability to manage the requirement of others not directly supervised




Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
  • General office positions may require some reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, standing, walking, sitting, hearing, visual acuity, color vision and 2-way written/verbal communication. More specific details may be provided as needed or requested.

  • Work assigned shifts to cover department hours of 6:30am-5:00pm; mandatory overtime may be required to meet business needs of internal and external customers
