The company:

I am currently engaged with a huge global investment bank who are seeking ambitious Java Developers to join one of their newer teams that are currently playing a crucial role in further driving the technological direction of the company - particularly taking some ownership on the research and development of blockchain technologies. They have been at the heart of global investment banking for over 150 years, are a World leader in wealth management and are routinely awarded with 'Best Private Banking Services' at International level. This role is perfect for a Java developer who wants to level up their career at a company with a fantastic reputation for developing the best software engineers in the financial sector

The role:

You will be responsible for designing and building next generation software solutions that are key to the business strategy of the company. The majority of the work you will be doing will be based on developing new functionalities with the maintenance tasks limited to around 20% so there will be lots of new code to sink your teeth into. If successful you would be joining a team that creates products for their virtual assets division and building 3 products including a blockchain tokenisation project hosted on the cloud (Microsoft Azure)

Your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
  • Delivering innovative and valuable applications to the market
  • Developing modern Java services and applications
  • Driving your knowledge on blockchain technologies and sharing that knowledge with the team

The ideal profile:

The ideal candidate will be an independent worker who is able to contribute significantly to the productivity of the team and who is not scared of learning new skills. Blockchain tech is still an emerging area within IT so someone who enjoys learning new skills and collaborating with other members of the team would be a huge advantage along with the following technical skills:
  • Solid experience with Java, Microservices architecture and RESTful Web services
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with relational databases - they currently use PostgreSQL
  • RESTful web services
  • Experience with Java Unit testing and knowledge of common testing frameworks

Benefits and working requirements:

The company are developing as part of a close-knit, tight unit and therefore love for the team to be in the office on a hybrid basis. You would be working from their Krakow office 2-3x per week and forming close relationships with your team and stakeholders

They are offering work on a UoP contract with PKUP, a generous annual bonus (up to 15% of annual salary), private pension, private healthcare and they also offer discounted stocks which will be very lucrative as this company are consistently growing year on year
