Job description

Principal Software Engineer - Oslo

Position: full time, permanent

Location: Oslo, hybrid working options

We are searching for a principal software engineer to be part of an established development environment in Oslo

As part of a cross functional team, there are opportunities to work fullstack or more frontend/backend focused depending on your interests

You will be alongside colleagues who's skillset compliments yours, as well as professionals specialised in architecture, design and QA

Projects are varied and can include a mixture of developing new SaaS solutions from scratch, modernising existing applications & adding new features, as well as developing tailored applications for customers with differing requirements. There is always something new to be created!

We are looking for you to bring some of the following skills and experiences:
  • 5+ years of experience within software development/engineering
  • Proficiency in either Java, Kotlin, JavaScript or Typescript
  • For developers wishing to work more frontend focused we look for experience with at least one modern framework (react, angular or vue)
  • Experience with test driven development
  • Experience with public cloud

We also value personal skills and look for those who are good communicators in both English and Norwegian, and can demonstrate a desire to learn and work with new technologies to keep up with the latest trends

You will be part of forward thinking team who prioritise innovation and who create simple solutions to complex problems. We look for you who can write quality code, but who can also go beyond to engineer solutions and see the bigger picture

You will have access to all of the tools you require to be productive in your role, as well as being part of wider discussions regarding technology and methodology choices meaning your voice will be heard and changes can be implemented

There are frequent activities through the year for personal development, including opportunities to take certifications and courses which interest you, attend conferences & networking events, and be part of internal workshops for collaboration between teams
