Platform Engineer (Linux Operations Engineer)

Our client, a Top Financial Services Company is looking for a platform/ Linux operations engineer to handle their in house IT infrastructure including Automation and Shell scripting.

Duties

• Linux server administration and project management
• Participate in the feasibility study and proof-of-concept evaluation of new IT Infrastructure Technology & Solutions
• Prepare and propose solutions for linux based systems, hardware, software including configurations, troubleshooting and project implementations
• Schedule and provide after hours/weekend support whenever necessary, implement tools/process for change management, system monitoring and etc
• Propose and suggest solutions for systems automation/process automation and etc
• Prepare documentation system and operational support
• Take part in system support in rotational basis depends on business need
• Strong operational skills, with ability to work with end users to understand requirements and resolve trouble tickets
• To gather and relay technical concepts in lay man terms according to different operations/project needs

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology
• At least 3 years in Linux or open source administration experience including implementation, troubleshooting and operational support.
• Experience in Linux (Oracle, Redhat, Ubuntu & CentOS), Virtualization technologies (Oracle & RedHat), Monitoring / Operational intelligence products (Nagios, Splunk or ELK) and Backup products (Veritas / NetBackup & Commvault) ortechnologies (LVM, systemd, memory/cpu/network/disk management and troubleshooting, Bash scripting)
• Experience with programming and/or scripting, task automation(e.g. Ansible), and best security practices for server installation and administration
• Understanding of standard services and protocols (DNS, DHCP, LDAP, SSH, SNMP)
• Good analytical and problems solving skills with strong self-motivation and ability to work under pressure
• Candidates with less experience will also be considered as junior role
