What you'll do

As a Senior Backend Developer on the Tech team, your job will be to:

  • Research, develop and Continuously improve the platform while looking out for new opportunities to help it grow.

  • Be responsible for all the stages of the feature development cycle

  • Discuss ideas, design specifications and workshops with team members

  • Complex problem solving and coordination with other teams to deliver features

  • Release features to thousands of users

  • Freedom to work across the stack and have a lot of input on the areas you wish to focus on

Who we think you are

  • Strong experience with backend development

  • Experience with backend technologies such as Python

  • Experience with Postgresql, Mongodb, or other SQL/noSQL databases

  • Commitment to the craft and the collaboration involved. Peer reviewing, and writing robust, reusable, and testable code.

  • Understanding of scalability and performance

  • Ability to lead or self-organise a project through the entire feature development life cycle

It's a bonus if you have experience with :

  • Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, Automation and Terraform

  • Public cloud experience with either AWS or GCP
