Originating concepts and prototypes for UI
Optimisation of UI pipeline and delivery of final assets as well as implementing
Production of supporting material for community, web, marketplace and event messaging.
2D graphic design and illustration work where needed
Ensure in-game UI marries with UX to provide a seamless experience for players
Assess and iterate on UI visuals based on collaboration with project team, and user testing feedback
Ensure consistency of UI design across all product related materials.
Skills & Qualifications
Excellent visual design skills (sense of proportion, layout, graphical form, typography, colour, composition and negative space)
Bold, confident approach to your work, you understand what looks great and fits the brief
Great working knowledge of Unity, familiar with most recent Unity UI systems and capacity to implement work in-engine
Able to concept, prototype and demo functionality, showing reference and influences
Able to fully implement UI prefabs with developer assistance only to connect functionality
The ability to demonstrate a practical understanding of UX/communication design conventions and how they affect player behaviour and be aware of current and emerging trends
Understanding of UI pipeline within a game production
Technical proficiency with Unity, vector graphics tools, Photoshop, After Effects, video editing
Ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines
Experienced in shipping games
A desire to have a big impact within a small empowered team
