Digital Lead Architect - Perm role

Your Impact & Responsibilities

As a Lead, you will drive the technology vision and architecture strategy for our digital commerce ecosystem across APAC, with strong focus on online platforms, customer experience, and scalable growth.

Strategic Leadership

• 
  
  Partner with the Head of IT to define and execute the company's technology roadmap with a strong focus on eCommerce and online business expansion.
• 
  
  Architect scalable digital commerce platforms to support high traffic, peak campaigns, and regional growth.
• 
  
  Continuously evaluate emerging technologies to enhance online customer experience and conversion performance.

Architecture & Solution Design

• 
  
  Translate business, product, and online sales requirements into secure, scalable, and high-performing architecture.
• 
  
  Design end-to-end eCommerce solutions including storefront, checkout, payment integrations, order management, and third-party system integrations.
• 
  
  Own system architecture diagrams, integration designs, and technical documentation.
• 
  
  Ensure best practices in microservices, event-driven architecture, cloud-native and serverless systems.

Engineering & Delivery Excellence

• 
  
  Lead the full SDLC across web and mobile commerce platforms.
• 
  
  Guide development of high-performance web applications (React.js, Next.js) and mobile apps (React Native for iOS & Android).
• 
  
  Ensure strong UX/UI standards that drive online sales conversion and customer engagement.
• 
  
  Establish CI/CD pipelines, DevOps best practices, and secure coding standards.

Cloud & Infrastructure

• 
  
  Architect and manage AWS cloud infrastructure optimized for eCommerce traffic spikes and high availability.
• 
  
  Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• 
  
  Manage containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS/ECS.
• 
  
  Ensure system reliability, performance monitoring, and cost optimization.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

• 
  
  Lead and mentor regional and offshore engineering teams.
• 
  
  Work closely with product, marketing, and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with online revenue goals.
• 
  
  Coordinate with technology vendors, payment gateways, and logistics partners.
• 
  
  Maintain high standards of engineering governance and delivery excellence.

What You Bring

• 
  
  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 
  
  10+ years of IT experience with at least 3 years in architecture or senior technical leadership roles.
• 
  
  Solid background in retail/digital commerce environments
• 
  
  Hands-on experience delivering high-traffic, high-conversion online systems.
• 
  
  Deep understanding of the Shopify ecosystem and third-party integrations.
• 
  
  Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks: React.js, Next.js, React Native, Nest.js.
• 
  
  Experience building mobile commerce apps for iOS and Android, including release management and performance optimization.
• 
  
  Strong knowledge of APIs, payment integrations, scalable networking, and web security.
• 
  
  Extensive AWS experience with EKS/ECS, containerization, and cloud-native design.
• 
  
  Experience leading distributed/remote engineering teams.
• 
  
  Excellent stakeholder communication skills.
• 
  
  Agile experience; cloud/architecture certifications are a plus.
• 
  
  Fluent in English; Cantonese and Mandarin preferred.
