Azure Data Engineer

I am looking for an Azure data engineer for a full remote role.



Role Purpose:

The role will be responsible for developing and maintaining solutions on the XXX Advanced Analytics Platform which is based on the Microsoft Azure data & analytics tool stack. The engineer will perform analysis, development and testing of data engineering solutions including source data ingestion, transformation and modelling for analytics purposes. This will be a hands-on data engineering role with operational support and troubleshooting.

Experience

5+ years' experience in data & analytics roles
Experience in designing, delivering and managing data engineering solutions.
Proficiency in using Cloud Services (Azure) for data engineering, storage and analytics including Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage and associated infrastructure.
CI and CD using Azure Devops and git to manage and deploy ADF and Synapse
Data warehousing, data integration, data virtualization and analytics principles and techniques including Data Modelling, Dimensional Modelling.
ETL pipeline design experience is essential
Strong SQL and NoSQL experience required
Experience in working with data analysts, data scientists and BI teams to deliver on data requirements.
Data Catalogue experience is a plus.
Python Development is a plus
Realtime data ingestion (E.g. Kafka)
Experience integrating data from a wide range of sorce systems.

Knowledge

Good understanding about integration, ETL, API and Data sharing concepts.
Understanding / Awareness of Visualization tools is a plus
Familiarity with SAP/SAP BW as a data source is a plus.
Knowledge and understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements, such as CFR 21 part 11, EU General Data Protection Regulation, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and GxP validation process would be a plus.

The position requires a pragmatic Engineer with sound knowledge of data, integration and analytics.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to nontechnical audiences.
Exhibit excellent analytical skills, the ability to manage and contribute to multiple projects under strict timelines, as well as the ability to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment and meet overall objectives.
Project management skills: scheduling and resource management are a plus.
Ability to motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals.
