AWS / Snowflake Data Platform Lead

USA, New York

  • $90 to $105 USD
  • Architect Role
  • Skills: Snowflake, AWS, DBT, Fivetran, Architect, Contract, C2C, Data Engineer, Data Architect, Python, SQL, DW, Data Warehouse, Data Modelling
  • Seniority: Senior

Job description

We are representing a well established consumer brand undergoing a major AI transformation initiative.

The organization is designing and standing up a next generation, AI ready data platform on AWS, with Snowflake at the core. They are looking for a professional who will take ownership of the platform as the external advisory engagement transitions, ultimately becoming the internal Data Platform Lead.

This is not a "ticket taking" data engineering role. This is a build, architect, and own mandate.

The business is investing heavily in foundational data capabilities to support:

  • GenAI enablement

  • Revenue management and pricing optimization

  • Marketing analytics

  • Retail and consumer insights

  • Enterprise data modernization

You would be stepping in at a critical inflection point, helping shape the long term data and AI backbone of the organization.

What You'll Be Doing:

Platform Ownership

  • Build and scale ingestion pipelines and core platform foundations

  • Own architecture, governance, reliability, and scalability

  • Enhance and mature the medallion architecture

  • Implement Snowpark based compute models

Engineering Execution

  • Develop within Snowflake (Snowpark, Snowpipe, streaming)

  • Leverage AWS core data and compute services

  • Drive transformations with dbt

  • Integrate marketing, retailer, Nielsen, and consumer behavior data sources

  • Use Fivetran for ingestion workflows

  • Manage infrastructure as code via Terraform

  • Maintain version control standards via GitHub

Strategic Impact

  • Translate business use cases into scalable platform components

  • Advise leadership on what should or should not be built, and why

  • Act as the internal SME across Snowflake and AWS data engineering

  • Partner with business stakeholders and product owners

  • Lead knowledge transfer and transition planning from consulting to in house

This individual will ultimately lead the internal data platform function and collaborate closely with a separate application engineering team.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong hands on Snowflake experience, including Snowpark and advanced ingestion patterns

  • Deep AWS data platform expertise

  • Experience building and scaling enterprise data platforms end to end

  • Architecture level thinking, not just pipeline development

  • Experience supporting analytics and AI use cases

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

  • Ability to operate independently and define standards

Weekly visits to the office in New York are strongly preferred
