    About the Role

    We are seeking an experienced Snowflake DevOps Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract. This is a fully remote position, but candidates must be based in the UK and have unrestricted right to work in the UK.

    You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust DevOps practices for Snowflake environments, leveraging Azure DevOps for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), networking, security, and containerisation.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Build and maintain automated deployment pipelines for Snowflake using Azure DevOps.
    • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for scalable and secure environments.
    • Ensure best practices in networking and security within cloud-based data platforms.
    • Support containerisation strategies and integration with Snowflake.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.


    Essential Skills & Experience

    • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with Snowflake.
    • Strong proficiency in Azure DevOps tools and practices.
    • Expertise in IaC, networking, and security within cloud environments.
    • Hands-on experience with containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
    • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

    An experienced Platform Engineer is required to support the rollout and maintenance of a large, federated, multi-service Data and AI platform. The role focuses on building secure, scalable, and cost-optimised cloud infrastructure, implementing governance, and enabling advanced data services.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Build and maintain Azure infrastructure using Terraform.
    • Implement governance and compliance controls, including Azure Policy.
    • Configure and manage Azure Private Link and Private Link Service.
    • Enable advanced data services with Databricks and Unity Catalog for data governance.
    • Develop CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
    • Ensure security best practices, including Defense in Depth, BCDR, and high availability.
    • Manage identity and access, including OAuth and federated credentials.
    • Optimise cloud costs and monitor usage effectively.

    Essential Skills

The business is modernising its platform and building out new capabilities, so this role offers the chance to shape how things are done while staying hands‑on.

    The company is preparing to move from its existing Azure setup to a Databricks-based platform, with a major build programme planned over the coming months. You'll be involved in the development of new pipelines, improvements to existing data flows, and helping to embed better engineering practices across the team.

    This position combines day‑to‑day engineering with leadership. You'll oversee the work of two Data Engineers, offer technical guidance, and contribute to wider decisions around architecture and delivery. There's also a longer-term roadmap that includes automation and early-stage AI/Data Science projects.
