Senior software engineer (backend) - 6 month project (potential extension) - Full time - Stockholm
We're looking for a seasoned backend engineer who thrives in technical ambiguity and working across the full engineering lifecycle, from solving complex API challenges, to seamless integrations with customer platforms.
This isn't your typical backend role. Yes, you'll write code but your real impact will come from untangling complexity, aligning teams, and driving technical clarity across multiple layers of the stack and organization.
🚀 What You'll Do
Lead technical initiatives end-to-end, from scoping to deployment
Work hand-in-hand with product managers, external partners, and internal stakeholders
Own integrations with a wide range of third-party APIs and hardware devices
Navigate complex cloud infrastructure and distributed systems
Bring structure and clarity to fast-moving, ambiguous environment
This is a
backend-first role where you'll be deeply involved in:
API design and integration
Distributed systems and cloud operations
Automation and data pipelines
Real-world, IoT-scale device integrations (think: solar panels, EV chargers, batteries - all speaking different languages)
🛠 Our Stack
We're tech-agnostic when it makes sense, but here's what you'll mostly work with:
Golang (must-have)
AWS (our primary production cloud) - Lambda, RDS, IoT Core, and more
GCP (mostly on the analytics and data side) - Cloud Run, BigQuery, Python
MQTT and other protocols for
This role is deeply backend-focused, but it touches systems-level thinking, infrastructure, and real-world connected devices.
🧠 Who We're Looking For
You're a good fit if you:
Have experience at the Staff, Principal, or very Senior Engineer level
Have worked in startups or high growth environments
Are comfortable owning complex technical projects from idea to production
Know how to collaborate across function, especially with product and external technical teams
Love diving into murky, layered systems and driving towards clarity
Bring a high level of technical ownership and curiosity
Bonus points if you've worked with IoT and energy systems, but not a must-have.
