Job description



Estamos en la búsqueda de un/a DBA especializado/a en PostgreSQL, con sólida experiencia en entornos Linux/Unix y conocimientos en Google Cloud Platform (GCP). La persona seleccionada será responsable de la administración, optimización y mantenimiento de bases de datos críticas para la operación de la empresa, asegurando su rendimiento, disponibilidad y seguridad.

Responsabilidades:


  • Administrar y mantener bases de datos PostgreSQL en entornos productivos y de desarrollo.


  • Diseñar, implementar y optimizar esquemas de bases de datos para mejorar el rendimiento y la escalabilidad.


  • Monitorear el rendimiento y realizar ajustes para optimizar consultas y recursos del sistema.


  • Implementar estrategias de backup y recuperación para garantizar la disponibilidad de los datos.


  • Automatizar tareas mediante scripting en entornos Linux/Unix.


  • Gestionar la seguridad de las bases de datos, aplicando buenas prácticas de control de acceso y auditoría.


  • Coordinar con equipos de desarrollo y operaciones para garantizar la integridad y eficiencia de los sistemas.


  • Desplegar y administrar bases de datos en entornos GCP (Cloud SQL, BigQuery, etc.), si aplica.


  • Diagnosticar y resolver incidentes relacionados con bases de datos.


Requisitos:


  • Experiencia comprobada de 2+ años como DBA PostgreSQL.


  • Sólidos conocimientos en Linux/Unix (gestión de servidores, scripting, performance tuning, etc.).


  • Experiencia en optimización de bases de datos, índices, particionamiento y tuning de consultas SQL.


  • Conocimiento en herramientas de monitoreo y diagnóstico de PostgreSQL.


  • Experiencia en estrategias de backup, recuperación y replicación de bases de datos.


  • Conocimiento en GCP (Google Cloud SQL, BigQuery, IAM, VPC, etc.) es altamente valorado.


  • Habilidades de resolución de problemas y capacidad para trabajar en entornos de alta disponibilidad.


Deseable:


  • Experiencia con contenedores y Kubernetes.


  • Conocimientos en infraestructura como código (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).


  • Familiaridad con herramientas de monitoreo como Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.

About the Role: Our Client is seeking a skilled Senior Data Engineer to join their team for a 6-month contract role based in Dallas, TX. The successful candidate will play a key role in building, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines and infrastructure, working closely with stakeholders to deliver superb data solutions. This position requires 3 days per week on-site at the client location.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Databricks and Azure technologies.


  • Implement data integration solutions that support analytics and reporting needs.


  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to understand requirements and deliver effective data solutions.


  • Optimize data storage, processing, and performance for large-scale datasets.


  • Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with relevant regulations.




Key Skills & Experience Required:


  • Proven experience as a Senior Data Engineer or in a similar role.


  • Strong expertise in Databricks and Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake).


  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and other data engineering languages.


  • Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.


  • Familiarity with data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance best practices.

  • Experiencia en análisis de datos y generación de reportes estratégicos.
  • Conocimiento de metodologías ágiles (Scrum/Kanban) es un plus.

My client is based in the London area are currently looking to recruit for an experienced Technical SQL Developer to join a giant within the Insurance Indusrty. They are one of the leaders within the Consulting space. They are currently going through a period of growth and are looking for an experienced SQL Developer to join their team. Role Overview
Design, develop, and maintain efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions to access and process data from diverse systems.

Build and manage reliable ETL pipelines using SQL and SSIS to support enterprise-wide data integration and transformation.

Optimise SQL code and ETL workflows to enhance performance and scalability.

Develop and maintain SSIS packages to ensure accurate and consistent data processing.

Support operational reporting systems by resolving issues raised by users and stakeholders.

(Preferred) Assist in the development of .NET/Windows services for data processing tasks.

Carry out data profiling, source-to-target mapping, and quality checks to meet technical and business requirements.

Work closely with analytics teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Follow best practices in database design and coding; contribute to code reviews and collaborative development.

Create clear technical documentation for data processes and workflows.



Skills & Experience Required
Degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Economics.

At least 5 years' experience in SQL development.

Advanced skills in writing complex SQL, stored procedures, and performance tuning.

Solid hands-on experience with SSIS and ETL development.

Knowledge of BI/reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, SSRS, SSAS) is advantageous.

Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Experience in fast-paced, agile environments with a proactive and solution-focused approach.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Able to collaborate effectively within global and culturally diverse teams.
