GCP Data Engineer - London - Hybrid

Overview:

An innovative and fast-growing firm in the insurance sector is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join its expanding data and technology team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies and play a key role in shaping enterprise data strategy.



Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using GCP
• Implement data governance, security, and compliance frameworks
• Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to deliver data solutions
• Migrating from Azure to GCP
• Automate data lifecycle processes and optimise cloud resource usage
• Support analytics and self-service reporting initiatives

Skills & Experience

• Strong experience with GCP, BigQuery, Dataflow
• Proficiency in Python and Terraform
• Skilled in ETL/ELT, data modelling, and metadata management
• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, and Infrastructure-as-Code
• Knowledge of insurance data and KPIs is advantageous but not essential
