Head of AI (Building New Team)

Hiring for Head of AI to take full ownership of the company's AI vision, strategy, and execution. This role is for a hands-on leader who is excited to build an AI organization and product from zero, and scale it into a core business capability.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the overall AI and technology strategy, architecture, and roadmap
• Build, hire, and lead a new AI team (~5 members), setting culture, standards, and best practices
• Drive AI product development end-to-end (0 → 1), from concept validation to production launch
• Act as the primary technical decision-maker for AI, data, and cloud infrastructure
• Partner closely with the CEO and leadership team, translating business goals into scalable AI solutions
• Stay ahead of AI market trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape, and identify opportunities for adoption
• Take ownership of cloud architecture and deployment across AWS and GCP, ensuring scalability, security, and cost efficiency
• Lead execution with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and delivery mindset

Requirements

• Senior-level experience in AI / ML engineering, system design, and product development
• Proven experience building products and platforms from 0, ideally in startup or transformation environments
• Demonstrated leadership experience in building and managing technical teams
• Strong strategic mindset combined with hands-on technical depth
• Deep passion for AI, with strong awareness of market trends and real-world use cases
• Solid experience with AWS and/or GCP cloud architecture
• Comfortable operating in high-ambiguity, fast-moving environments
• Excellent English communication skills (direct reporting to CEO)
