A leading UK organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst with a strong background in database design, data modelling, and systems impact assessment. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of strategic data architecture and operational analytics support, influencing enterprise-wide data strategy while working hands-on with technical teams.

In this role, the Senior Business Analyst will spend approximately 80% of their time leading critical data model refinement and impact assessment projects, ensuring that proposed structural changes to complex systems are delivered with minimal disruption. The remaining 20% will involve supporting the Data & Analytics function in delivering system enhancements, reporting capabilities, and performance improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead detailed impact assessments of proposed data model changes across multiple interconnected systems.
  • Map dependencies between proprietary and commercial platforms, including ServiceNow.
  • Collaborate with technical architects to design optimised, future-proof data structures.
  • Develop migration strategies and roadmaps for approved model changes.
  • Translate analytical requirements into clear technical specifications.
  • Support testing and user acceptance activities for data and analytics enhancements.
  • Act as the bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders.

Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Strong Business Analysis experience, with a focus on databases and data systems.
  • Expert knowledge of relational database design, normalisation, and data modelling.
  • Proficiency in SQL, database optimisation, and data mapping.
  • Strong understanding of ETL processes, data warehousing concepts (Snowflake advantageous), and API integrations.
  • Experience with both custom-built systems and commercial platforms.
  • Awareness of cloud-based architecture, ideally Azure.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

What's on Offer:
  • Competitive salary up to £68,000 per annum.
  • The chance to directly shape enterprise data strategy.
  • Work on cutting-edge data architecture projects with highly skilled teams.
  • Flexible hybrid working arrangements.

This role offers the chance to make a significant impact on data strategy and systems architecture, working closely with technical architects, analytics teams, and senior stakeholders to deliver transformative change.
