Contract Opportunity: Lead Azure Data Engineer (Remote - 500/day Outside IR35)

We're hiring for a Lead Azure Data Engineer to join our team on a hybrid contract based in London, supporting key finance stakeholders and transforming our data platform. This role offers the chance to shape the future of financial reporting through cutting-edge cloud engineering and data architecture.

Location: Central London (UK-based candidates only)
Rate: £500/day
IR35 Status: Outside IR35
Start Date: ASAP - Interviews next week
Duration: 6 months with potential for extension

The Role

You'll lead the design and delivery of scalable data products that support financial analysis and decision-making. Working closely with BI and Analytics teams, you'll help evolve our data warehouse and implement best-in-class engineering practices across Azure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and enhance ETL/ELT pipelines in Azure Databricks
  • Develop facts and dimensions for financial reporting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust data solutions
  • Optimize data workflows for performance and cost-efficiency
  • Implement governance and security using Unity Catalog
  • Drive automation and CI/CD practices across the data platform
  • Explore new technologies to improve data ingestion and self-service


Essential Skills
  • Azure Databricks: Expert in Spark (SQL, PySpark), Databricks Workflows
  • Data Pipeline Design: Proven experience in scalable ETL/ELT development
  • Azure Services: Data Lake, Blob Storage, Synapse
  • Data Governance: Unity Catalog, access control, metadata management
  • Performance Tuning: Partitioning, caching, Spark job optimization
  • Cloud Architecture: Infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, automation
  • Finance Domain Knowledge: Experience with financial systems and reporting
  • Data Modelling: Kimball methodology, star schemas
  • Retail Experience: Preferred but not essential

Senior Project Manager

Job Title: Infrastructure Delivery Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Delivery Manager to oversee the delivery of cutting-edge technology infrastructure for our investment bank headquarters. This role will focus on the execution of key deliverables, including new trading floors, communications room infrastructure refresh and migrations, and specialised multimedia for conferencing and meeting rooms.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for the technology infrastructure modernisation and consolidation project.
  • Trading Floor Technology: Oversee the design, procurement, and implementation of technology for new trading floors, ensuring high-performance systems to support trading operations.
  • Comms Room Infrastructure: Lead the refresh and migration of communications room infrastructure, including servers and networking equipment.
  • Specialised Multimedia: Deliver state-of-the-art multimedia solutions for conferencing and meeting rooms, including AV systems, video conferencing, and collaboration tools.
  • Technology Fit-Out: Coordinate the fit-out of new technology infrastructure across the campus.
  • Secure Technology Disposal: Manage the secure decommissioning and disposal of legacy technology.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Identify, mitigate, and resolve risks and issues, ensuring project milestones are met on time and within budget.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Provide regular progress reports to senior leadership and maintain comprehensive project documentation.




Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification preferred).
  • 10+ years of project management experience in technology infrastructure, preferably in investment banking or financial services.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects, including trading floor technology, comms room migrations, and multimedia installations.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure (servers, networking, cabling, AV systems) and financial industry requirements.
  • Expertise in managing vendor relationships, procurement, and contract negotiations.
  • Exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with strict deadlines.

Cloud Security Engineer (Azure/GCP) - Contract

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage cloud security policies and solutions for GCP and Azure environments.
  • Configure and maintain security services and tools within Google Cloud Platform (e.g., Cloud IAM, Security Command Center, VPC Service Controls) and Azure/M365 (e.g., Azure Security Center, Azure AD, Microsoft Defender for Cloud).
  • Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing of cloud infrastructure and applications.
  • Monitor cloud environments for security threats, anomalies, and incidents, and lead incident response efforts.
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and compliance teams to integrate security best practices into the CI/CD pipeline and ensure secure configurations.
  • Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and guidelines for cloud services, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and internal security frameworks.
  • Provide expertise and guidance on data protection, network security, and identity and access management within cloud platforms.
  • Preferably, assess and enhance the security of Salesforce, including data security, access controls, and compliance.


Desirable Qualifications:
