Our client, a multinational company headquartered in Hong Kong, is looking for a skilled Database Administrator to join their Group IT team in HK. MSSQL background is preferred.

Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases across development, testing, and production environments
  • Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions as required
  • Perform regular backup and restore procedures to ensure data integrity and availability
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery solutions are in place
  • Manage database security by controlling access permissions and privileges
  • Conduct regular performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries, indexes, and stored procedures
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, including slow queries, blocking, deadlocks, and failed jobs
  • Work closely with developers to optimize database structures and support application performance
  • Maintain documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and standards


Requirements:
  • Higher diploma in information technology or computer science
  • Extensive experience in database administration and operation (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL).
  • Knowledge and experience of MS SQL Server 2016 and above.
  • Proven experience in database design, performance tuning, and optimization.
  • Significant experience in infrastructure architecture design to support database systems.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize and self-manage varied workloads against agreed deadlines.

Role Purpose:

A highly capable and inspirational Data & Systems Lead to bring critical technical leadership that blends hands-on technical delivery with strategic oversight, guiding a small team of technical specialists to deliver high-quality data engineering, automation, and systems development solutions.​

Responsible for helping to shape and deliver our data and systems landscape, providing technical direction, and ensuring alignment with D&I strategy. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership to a team of 3 specialists across data engineering, automation, and systems development.​
  • Define and maintain a fit-for-purpose internal data and systems architecture, ensuring scalability and alignment with business needs.​
  • Lead the design and delivery of complex engineering solutions, setting technical direction and ensuring best practices.​
  • Develop and execute complex data engineering, development and technical change where required.​
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure cohesive and maintainable system design and integration.​
  • Guide team members in aligning their work to approved and prioritised initiatives, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.​
  • Act as a motivational and developmental force, helping to grow the team's skills, confidence, and performance.​

Skills and Experience
  • Significant experience in data engineering and system development,​ in particular Databricks, Microsoft technologies (Azure, Power Platform, M365) and integrations.
  • Experience working with a broad range of SaaS applications such as Workday and Monday.com desirable.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams, ideally in a small, agile
  • Comfortable delivering and supporting through hands on technical execution, as well as strategic planning and leadership.​
  • Strong understanding of data integration, automation, and system design.​
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder and team engagement skills.​

Role Overview



As a Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and maintaining robust data pipelines and models that support analytics and reporting. You'll work with diverse datasets and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and actionable.

  • Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
